Mac & Cheese

This isn't your traditional tasting Mac & Cheese, it has it's own unique flavour. I'm not saying it's the best in the world, but it's not bad either. I toasted some whole grain bread and crumbled it on top of the finished product and baked it for a few minutes. Delish.

Vegan Mac & Cheese:

From The 30 Minute Vegan

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1.5 cup almond milk
  • 2 tbsp vegan butter ( I use Earth Balance)
  • 2 tbsp spelt flour, or any other flour
  • 1 tsp stone ground mustard (hard to find, but found it at the health food store)
  • 1/2 tsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
Directions:

Combine all ingredients into a saucepan and heat. You don't have to boil it. Keep whisking it. The longer you heat it, the more it thickens up. Pour on top of cooked noodles (I used brown rice noodles)  and bake in a casserole dish at 350, for 10 minutes with your breadcrumbs on top!

Now! About this hot yoga dance party! For the experience as a whole I give it 6/10. I wore my Garmin and was watching my heart rate through the class. In 1:06:05 I burnt 300 calories and my heart rate never went over 140. I found that all I did was sweat alot, but there wasn't alot of cardio or work associated with the sweating. I think hot yoga classes are just dehydration classes. I can do the same moves at home in a normally cooled room and burn more or the same calories. Yes, you can stretch further in the heat --> but do you really want to go past your norm? I agree that the sweating is good for your skin, but it's nothing that a good run can't do. The music was great, even through all the women screaming and hoooing and haaaing, but I don't think I will ever go again. I figure i'll try out a hip hop dance fusion class? Something new and different!

I tried this great raw granola bar today! I was too hungry to wait till' I got home to take a picture of it, but here's the wrapper!

The ingredients were: Almonds, coconut, pumpkin seeds, figs, real raw agave nectar, sea salt, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger. All of the ingredients were organic too! It was a tad expensive, but a nice little treat!

Now i'm off to bring the puppers for separate walks, so that they still have alone time with me, and then i'll get back to reading my book! Yippeee!

I might make some granola tonight too.
